Basic Purpose
Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, the Quality Supervisor will work closely with plant personnel to ensure effective quality processes are in place and being followed. The Quality Supervisor will also be responsible for overseeing all other quality assurance functions at the St. Paul, Virginia location.
Responsibilities

Oversees the quality team at the St. Paul, VA location; communicates expectations clearly and ensures staff is appropriately trained for their specific job functions.

Creates and maintains manufacturing’s quality control operator work instructions and in-process check sheets in strict alignment with engineering drawings and specifications.

Ensures quality of existing manufactured products by conducting shop-floor audits and verifying manufacturing’s adherence to quality control processes and procedures.

Collects and analyzes shop-floor data as a basis for continuous improvement and prepares daily, weekly, and monthly quality assurance summary reports.

Ensures new products are launched with the highest quality by proactively establishing quality assurance and control processes before product launch via strict adherence to the qualification process.

Oversees the performance of routine & job specific performance tests to ensure compliance with internal and external published specifications.

Assists with continuous improvement of product and manufacturing processes to improve quality, reduce costs, and ensure product quality objectives are met.

Responsible for inspection and handling of nonconforming material and calibration.

Ensures all safety policies and procedures are followed by all staff; addresses any safety infractions as required by policy.

May be asked to perform the following: conducting incoming inspections of materials as needed; assisting in root cause analysis on claims.

Performs other duties as assigned or directed by Quality Manager.

Maintains awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; reports all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Qualifications

Associate's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience plus 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO-9001.

Experience with root cause analysis.

Hands-on experience working with quality management procedures to meet product engineering and market requirements.

Understanding of process variability, its impact on product quality, and the use of statistical tools to measure variability and drive continuous improvement.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing as applied to the quality management process preferred.

Knowledge of metal fabrication processes (tube laser cutting, welding, etc) and powder coating processes preferred.

Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc) is required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
